A Disneyland Christmas Visit
January 22, 2012

Space Mountain would have been great next, but the standby wait was over 2 hours. C'est la vie.

Then we thought about trying to hit Indy. Hah! Funny, right? And somewhere in Adventureland, our party inadvertently split into two groups. Trying to text our way back to cohesion was useless. So some went in search of food, others onward towards Pirates. I was with the latter troop.

Ropes. Always a bad sign. But we were told an hour, tops, so we got on line. And it did move along pretty well. I'd say we were in a boat in less than 50 minutes.

The final PotC sequences of the burning town feel a bit flaccid these days. If the Imagineers are considering any further tweaking, that's where I would suggest some technical upgrades. But I was surprised by how much I fell for this ride all over again. Yo, ho, ho, me mateys! One of Walt and Cos.' best.

So many peepuls...

Oooh... look... the island is SO EMPTY. We should go there...

We did not. The need for food was now overwhelming, so we rejoined with the rest (who had eaten) and went in search of corn dogs.

While eating our life-shorteners-on-a-stick, we saw that the line for the Matterhorn was down to about 45 minutes. Cool.

Loved watching the shiny, futury monorails pass by as we waited. Gorgeous.

I hope this basic design never changes. 'Twould be a sin.
