I did not ride Superman (or Batman, either), but we got some great views of SUF during the backstage walk.

This photo reminds me of rolling a millipede onto its side and seeing all those little legs wiggling away. (I spaced on the fact that this was the very first B&M Flyer with the Pretzel Loop, somewhat historically important. Should have knocked that credit out... Ah, well, next time.)

And, finally, Goliath. Not an original name, or logo, or color scheme, but, in the end, so what? We did not ride Goliath during the day because it was the main event for nighttime ERT. So right after the Water Challenge, we made haste for this big Beemer.

I'm sure the beer and the post-Water Challenge giddiness colored my impressions a little, but whatever, we LOVED this coaster. Tons of airtime, and with decidely more kick than many of B&M's larger offerings.

Ridden so soon after luxuriating in the serene airtime of Carowinds' Intimidator, Goliath took me by surprise. And we rode this thing over and over. A superb ride to close out another amazing trip, Goliath just got better and better as the night wore on. Front car, back car, anywhere in between, there were no dead spots, not for me, anyway.

Amongst a whole mess of airtime hills, Goliath takes a break between its second and third acts to spin us through this downward spiral. I don't know why I like spirals as much as I do, but I most certainly do like spirals.

But the hills are where this Goliath works its most powerful magic and that middle stretch of them? Oh, yes, that is one unforgettable sequence of whoop-de-freaking-do. I know I'm not the first to say it: this is among Bolliger & Mabillard's best. A revelation.
