Six Flags Discovery Kingdom 2012 Fright Fest Report
Nov. 4, 2012

Nightmare Manor takes up residence in the park's bumper car building and I wouldn't have thought you could get a very interesting maze into a space that small, but they did. Again, we went through the Manor before Fright Fest started and what we saw was really promising. Slightly disappointing, some of the mechanical scares didn't go off while we went through at night.

That said, some unexpected things did happen, and they were ingenious. All I'll say is this: scary furniture.

A bust of the lord of the manor, Nicholas himself.

Is this Mrs. Nightmare? Her being a vampire and all would go a long way in explaining how Arsenic and Arania turned out.

No maze here is as ornately detailed as, say, the Scary Farm's Trick Or Treat (again, not a fair comparison), but Nightmare Manor had some cool set dressing, like this pile of bloody dolls in one of the twins' bedrooms.

Oh, look, a baby's crib... is baby aslee- GAAAAAAAH!

This poor fellow was positively ghastly, even in bright light. YUCK.

I would not call Nightmare Manor my favorite maze of the evening, but for two scares alone, it will NOT be forgotten.
