New York City Photo Trip Report – Part 2 - Coney Island
August 2, 2012

For more spinny, coaster-ish fun, you can't beat these Disk-O things. And Luna's Electro Spin felt like it was cranked up pretty high. (I am not familiar with the programming of flat rides one bit, so maybe Disk-Os all run the same all the time... if that's the case, then it was just the excitement of the moment, I guess.)

But, for sure, I'm glad to say this is another flat that I can happily enjoy. As long as you don't ask me to do it again, right away. (Also, how about that mighty Wonder Wheel in the background?).

I didn't ride the Brooklyn Flyer previously, and thought I should do it this visit, after having conquered both SFDK's Sky Screamer and a couple of Windseekers. This one isn't so tall; a piece of cake, right?

Well, yes and no. It isn't so tall. But once you reach cruising altitude, it picks up rotational velocity very suddenly. That caught me off guard.

The ops did allow me to take my camera on board, so along with the Tingler image, I nabbed two more pictures worth sharing. Again, all hail the wonder of Wonder Wheel! (Plus, I love the expressions on the two guys in the seat in front of me.).

Once I got used to the speed and the angle of flight, this experience was on the verge of being something in the general neighborhood of "tranquil." Just barely.

The Wild River flume ride was flowing, but neither of us felt like getting wet, and it looked pretty wet.
