Chocolate World 2011 Trip Report
August 3, 2011

Here they are, moving towards the end of the line. Almost done...

You can see, down to the second, how long it will be until your bar hits the cartoning station.

So while you wait, it's time to design the graphics for the outer sleeve.

They keep it pretty simple: choose a background color, pick from a library of various Hershey-related icons and illustrations, type in your name, and using a touch-screen, put 'em together as you see fit. If you need any help, there are capable assistants at the ready.

And as the bar cools, it's ready to get cartoned.

Stare into the retina-melting laser, kids! (Seriously, it's nice to know that they really do scan for any impurities in your bar, like a piece of metal or something, before sending it out. QC, baby.)

The final product! I went for an "old-school" look, and so did Doug. As a matter of fact, our labels looked almost identical (although he went with a blue background), and we made up the exact same bar.

I never thought I'd make even a dent in this thing, but it was gone before sundown. The whole damn bar. I say, if you fall off the wagon, you might as well fall hard...

And here's what Zac thought of it all: Two thumbs up! Agreed, dude!

(Okay, now, Hershey, really man, I mean it: do the right thing. Go Fair Trade, all the way. It's what Milton would want. Thanks in advance for your attention to this important matter and I look forward to eating more Hershey product some day soon.)
